Friday Song: Lord Lord Lord by the Kahn Brothers

I heard this at the end of an episode of the hugely enjoyable but short lived TV series, The Unusuals. It starred Jeremy Renner, Amber Tamblyn from the wonderful Joan of Arcadia, Harold Perrineau (he will always be Mercutio from Romeo & Juliet to me) and Adam Goldberg (he was Chandler’s crazy roommate, Eddie in Friends).

This song just makes me feel happy, content with life and at ease, so I wanted to share it with everyone.  The opening lyrics point to a dark, sad song but the tone is really uplifting

And here’s the scene from The Unusuals featuring this song. Casey and the trophy is so cute.

What songs make you feel happy? Happy Friday everyone.

I’ve loved Amber Tamblyn since her days as the indomitable Emily Bowen-Quartermaine. Her re-casts never could quite measure up.
Songs that make me happy? There are many. But today I think I’ll stick to the ever appropriate “Friday, I’m In Love” by The Cure. Classic…and good for Friday. 🙂

  2. Nice song!

I know this is going to sound so cliche. But I think the song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” is really upbeat. Now I have to go to YouTube and listen to it!

  3. Holy Balls! I have been trying to remember the name of this TV show. I loved it when it came out and was disappointed when it went away, but then again it seemed that any show I liked on ABC at the time got canceled (i.e.:Life on Mars, The Gates, and Pushing Daisies). Stupid ABC, somebody should cancel you.
As for songs that make me happy, that’s always a revolving door. Right now I can’t help but dance and sing along every time ‘Call Me Maybe’ comes on (which is awkward for anyone around me as I only know two lines to the whole song; at least I can dance). Next week it’ll probably be a country song, I’ve really been in a country mood this past week.
Many happy weekend returns to you, Ciao.

I know; it only got 10 episodes! I thought the cast was great and it made me laugh. So many shows these days get cancelled before they’ve had a chance to shine.
I have to flick over when “Call Me Maybe” comes on the radio; it just grates on my nerves 🙂
Country music is always good. Have a great weekend.

  4. Most songs make me happy, I just love music! LOL – I, too, went through a stage where all I listened to was ‘Call me Maybe’ – although the beginning always made me roll my eyes as you can’t throw a wish in a well, right?. Don’t mind hearing it now and then, but am sort of over it. Don’t know if the song I’m going to name next makes me happy *scratches head*, but I’m loving it at the moment. ‘Don’t Kick the Chair’ by Dia Frampton. I not only love listening to it, but I love her voice. One song that really gets me moving and singing along is ‘Sun is Up’ by Inna. Oh, I give up – I love most anything. :p

Thanks for sharing, Emma. Hope you are having an awesome weekend! 😀

I’m on youtube right now listening to “Don’t Kick the Chair” – thanks! I’m liking it. Her voice is unique.
I just can’t stand “Call Me Maybe” – drives me nuts. I listened to “Sun is Up” all last summer, good, catchy, dance tune.
Enjoying a lazy Sunday. Hope you’re doing the same, Sandra.

      • I’m glad you are liking it! It is – there’s just something about her voice that calls to me. 😀

LOL. Well, we don’t want you going nuts, so it’s a good thing you aren’t listening to it anymore. One that drives me round the bend, and I always either turn the radio off or change channel, is one of Madonna’s latest. Grrr. She’s no longer in her twenties, but her songs are starting to sound so cheesy, I can’t listen to them anymore. I’ll listen to the older ones though.

My Sunday was exactly that, lazy. I did read though. Always have to get some reading in. Have a good week ahead. 😉

I don’t like her latest songs. But I do love her old hits and The Power of Goodbye.

Showing my age a bit here, but I love Under the Boardwalk by The Drifters. I never did get a chance to watch The Unusuals. Will check to see if it’s on Netflix.
Wanted to let you know I nominated you for some wonderful awards Emma! Come see. http://wp.me/p27ipo-Ah

I really enjoyed The Unusuals. I was vey disappointed the show was not renewed. The song Lord Lord Lord in the episode ” one man band’ was an excellent choice for that particular scene at the end of the show. I have been searching for that song to add to my library and I now have it.

The Unusuals had a great cast of quirky characters. It’s a pity it was so short-lived.
