Ashley Hill runs a fun and creepy blog, Paranormal Sisters, where she reviews a lot of supernatural books. She’s also a writer. Today she’s sharing a guest post about her scary tale, The Harvesters. From the title alone, I’m shuddering. Then there’s the cover. I’m already imagining terrifying Texas Chainsaw Massacre type horror now.

I was home schooled for high school (my boyfriend wished I didn’t because he thinks I missed out, yeah no ha-ha. I graduated a year early and ended up with a 3.4 GPA :)) and since I was home all the time I had to find new things to do besides school and lazing around. So in early 2008 that’s how I found books. Finding my love to read then led me to find my writing bug.
I’m sure all you readers out there have heard about The Darkest Power series by Kelley Armstrong one way or another. Well, me having to wait so long for the third book after having a read-a-thon with the first two, scenes of a story started to pop into my mind. These scenes I then jotted down but I was thinking this paranormal story was just going to be a fill in till I got my hands on the third book. Just something to do with my time while I waited for the conclusion in the trilogy. Yeah, turned into more. Though the first novel I have written is still in the works as it just has too many clichés, and since I’m one that likes to point out clichés in other books, I can’t have my work look hypocritical, ha-ha.
So in the end it’s all Kelley Armstrong’s fault. If I hadn’t read her books and was left craving for the third one, then I wouldn’t have had characters pounding in my head wanting out. Again many thanks to her for writing Chloe’s and Derek’s story! It brought out a passion I’m so happy to have cause with it I feel like I have found what I am supposed to do with my life, to bring tales from my crazy mind to the world of other crazy minds.
