I’m off to see Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band tonight in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, Cork City, my hometown. This is the first time Bruce has ever played Cork. Bands haven’t played the Páirc in years, so let’s hope Bruce’s gig is going to start a new trend. I saw Michael Jackson in the Páirc in 1988 when I was a kid. I went to Bruce last July in Dublin, and he was great, one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
Here’s one of my favourite songs. Because the Night, live in Paris 1985. This video and song inspired “The Dead Beats”, the first short story in my Night Sighs collection. How can you not think of a sexy vampire rock star on a sultry, summer night when listening to this? Thank you, Bruce, for helping me to create two of my favourite characters, Alex and Tristan.
Have a good evening. I’m looking forward to some great tunes and a few beers. I promise to get back to talking books in my next post. I just still have a lazy, summer feeling going on.
Awesome. I have seen him twice, once in Flint Michigan and once in Buffalo, New York. He was fantastic and I hope you have a great time. First beer on me. lol
Thanks, Sherry. I had a few on you. 🙂
LOL

Enjoy, Emma! Sounds like a fantastic evening. 🙂
Thanks, Kitt. The city was jam packed. People were naming yesterday “Springsteen Day”.
You lucky girl, you! Hope you had a blast, Emma. 🙂
Thanks, Sandra. I did.
Not. Fair! LOL
He’s playing another town in Ireland this weekend. I really wish I’d gotten tickets for that show, too.
