James sent me an email about his story, I Died Once. With a title like that, I could hardly pass up the opportunity to spotlight it here on Emma’s Ramblings on Supernatural Fiction. Scroll on for the enigmatic blurb and haunting book cover.
I DIED ONCE – NOVELLA
Mady was a Dark Child…
She often sat alone in her bedroom, on the floor… Sorting through this or that, generally some sort of pharmaceuticals.
It’s good that she was never allowed to own a Cat… Or a Fish… Or any other sort of domestic animal, as they would have likely ended up at the end of some sort of experimentation… With drastic results.
It’s not that she’s “mean” for say… No.
It’s more that she is disjointed… An outcast really, from her own home…
From her Mother’s Heart.
Yes, Mady is a dark one… But what else was she to be, in a world devoid of light.

Thanks for sharing, James. Mady sounds like a troubled young woman. I’ve said it before, but I think the book cover artwork is stunning.
Love the cover for sure, but the story sounds good, too. I like dark. I’m already sad just from the blurb!
Best of luck, James.
Thank you so much Sandra
You’re welcome. 🙂
I’m in the mood for darkness at the moment, maybe that’s why I’m finally reading IT by Stephen King.
Arghhh, “They All Float Down Here”, Lol… Never read it, but Tim Curry played the Clown on the Television Movie
Gorgeous and unusual cover! The trailer is haunting, and I like the use of water tie-ins. They make me wonder how water factors into the plot. Great element to use.
Thank you Mae
It is unusual. Makes me think of water paintings.
Thanks for stopping by today, Mae.
I can’t Thank you enough Emma… The Cover Art is by a woman/girl by the name of Monica Gomes… Here is a Link to her Site http://cargocollective.com/smogartist
Let me know what you think of the novella if you get a chance to read it
You’re very welcome, James. I’m heading over to take a look at Monica’s work now. I have added I Died Once to my Goodreads list!
All the best,
Thank you Emma

Yep, yep, definitely sounds intreguing. I might even have time to read a novella.
Go on, you can squeeze it in.
Oh this sounds dark. Have to pop this on my wishlist. And I’m off to check out the cover’s artist too! X
We’re all liking dark at the moment. Is there something wrong with us? 🙂
Has everything going for it from the title to the blurb to the fantabulous cover art. I would love to read this one. Are you reading it?
Not yet, Laura. I’m currently deep in IT. It’s a huge book!
Great book. Much better than the movie too. The Talisman was really good too.
I like the cover as I do enjoy a good water painting, unfortunately this will have to go on the to read list as I have that many books I wish to read in a short space of time.
At present all my plans are on stop moment until I buck up. But it is a shame. as these things go around…..
