It’s Friday, and I’ve just finished my first week back at work this year. I don’t want to do anything right now except relax with some good music. My chillout picks for this evening are below. Hope you find something new here. If anyone would like to leave recommendations in the comments below, I’ll happily follow your links to YouTube.
Have a great weekend everyone, and if I haven’t popped by your blog to say it already, Happy New Year.
PS: I will get back to posting reviews next week when I’m feeling a little less lazy.
“Houdini” – Foster the People. I didn’t hear about this band until late 2011. They’re probably my favourite music find of the last decade. Most people know their song, “Pumped Up Kicks”, but the rest of the tracks on their album, Torches, are just as good.
“Breaking my Fall” – Bressie. He’s Irish, he’s fine, he’s easy on the eyes and ears.
“Video Games” – Lana Del Rey. I love most of her stuff. She’s got an old school, big star voice. Don’t think there’s anyone else quite like her out there on the music scene these days.
“Somebody That I Used to Know” – Gotye featuring Kimbra. My favourite song of 2012. 80s style, Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush, good music, great video, just awesome.
“Into the Nightlife” – Cyndi Lauper. I saw her perform this on The Graham Norton Show a few years back and instantly fell in love with it. Makes me want to find a dark bar and go dancing.
“Friday Night” – Lily Allen. This one’s fun with a bit of attitude.
