Song of the Day: Everyday by Rogue Wave

I love the peacefulness of this song, yet there’s an underlying sense of sadness. It’s a simple, soft and beautiful piece of music, and I think the video of young love goes well with it.

We all know the original by Buddy Holly. I have Stand By Me to thank for introducing me to “Everyday”,  but it was the 50’s Decades Dance in season 1 of Vampire Diaries that led me to Rogue Wave’s version. At around 1.40, I’m hearing an Irish lilt. Anyone else hearing that, or is it just me?

Everyday it’s gettin’ faster
Everyone said go ahead and ask her
A love like yours will surely come my way
hey hey hey

*******

Were you surprised by the ending of the video? Happy Friday.

Emma, I hadn’t heard this song before, but love it! I swear I find some of the best songs watching “The Vampire Diaries”! I definitely hear some kind of dialect from this band. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend!

  2. I haven’t heard this song either, but I can tell you that I loved it! Thanks for sharing, Emma. Loved the video, although it left me somewhat sad at the end. Hence the surprise. He should have asked her…. 🙂
