I came across Walking on Cars randomly today and I liked their sound instantly. They’re Irish, from Dingle in county Kerry, and I’m hoping it’s only a matter of time before their stuff starts making the national radio stations.
Here are two of their tracks.
“Tick Tock” is the one I heard first.
And “Two Stones” is a song I found on YouTube.
Next up is The Blizzards. “Trust Me I’m a Doctor” is a catchy song about the art of lads chatting up girls. Boys will be boys, eh?
And finally we have rockabilly queen Imelda May from The Liberties in Dublin. She’s awesome and knows that all us girls have a “Wild Woman” somewhere in us.

Have a great Friday evening.

Very nice. I have “thing” for Irish bands and Irish music, but it’s hard for me to discover them. I really liked Walking on Cars…both songs and both vids, especially Tick Tock. Enjoy your Friday, Emma!
Have a great weekend, Mae.
I didn’t care for the first two, but I thoroughly enjoyed Imelda May. The song AND the video was fun.
Imelda May is a cool chick.
The first two songs were really pretty! I love that style of music. 🙂
They’re chillaxing music. 🙂 I could imagine those songs played during an episode of The Vampire Diaries. Have a great weekend, Becky.
Kodaline and The Riptide Movement are 2 other Irish bands who are very good! Kodaline have great songs – “All I want” which featured in the Vampire Diaries if I’m not mistaken! 🙂 The Riptide Movement have a song out at the mooment called “All Works Out”. It’s catchy! 🙂
**at the moment!!!!** Had a cow moment obviously with my “mooment” 😀
Moo.
I’m checking out Kodaline right now. Thanks Laura. Then it’s Riptide Movement. Nice way to start the working day.
Loved Walking on Cars – love that kind of sound (I’m a mellowing with age) but the other two would have suited the younger lass who went to clubs three times a week to shake my hair on the dance floor. The Blizzards actually reminded me of the Hives (who I once saw in concert). Great selection Emma!
I checked Walking on Cars’ website to see if they had any upcoming gigs in Cork and saw I had just missed them. Oh well, I’m sure they’ll be back soon. I’m getting older but no sign of mellowing yet! Fingers crossed. 🙂
Thanks for tuning in, Shah.
