So it’s Friday, and as usual I’m feeling quite lazy so it has to be time for Round Two of Sexy Songs. If you missed Round One, click HERE.
Use Somebody – Kings of Leon. Moody and sexy don’t begin to cover how good this song is.
Burnin’ For You – Blue Oyster Cult. Something a little haunting about this tune.
I’m on Fire – Bruce Springsteen. “I can take you higher.” Of course Bruce has to get a mention.
Crash Into Me – Dave Matthews Band. Romantic air but naughty lyrics. Heard this in the very first episode of Roswell.
The One – Niki Haris. Heard this on the Dark Angel soundtrack.
Hungry Eyes – Eric Carmen. One of my favourite songs ever. Dirty Dancing.
Layla (Acoustic) – Eric Clapton. The guitar at the start just gets me.
Hot Stuff – Donna Summer. Enough said.
Fade Into You – Mazzy Star. Sultry.
Last time, I asked for suggestions. Laura Cotter’s was Michael Bolton’s “How Can we Lovers if We Can’t Be Friends”. Enjoy his sexy voice. Gotta love a bit of Bolton. From Lauralynn Elliot we have “Kiss You All Over” by Exile. I have to confess I hadn’t heard of this before so thanks for introducing me. “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters was Laura Thomas’ choice – that’s one of my favourites too. Becky asked how about some of The Pretty Reckless. Shannon Moreau came up with “In the Closet” by Michael Jackson. I love this song, and the video is very sexy.
Do you like, love or loathe any of the above mentioned songs? What’s on your Sexy playlist?

I’ve enjoyed listening to these tunes while I work! I love “Use Somebody” and something by Clapton shows up on all of my lists!
Hope you don’t get in trouble at work!
Oh, woman! You didn’t just do this to me! Now all I can think of are all the sexy songs running through my head…from Toby Keith’s “You Shouldn’t Kiss Me Like This” to Cyndi Thomson’s “I Always Like That Best” to Chris Isaac’s “Wicked Game” and Otis Redding’s “These Arms Of Mine”. I could go on for hours, but for now I’ll stop here. Love, love, LOVE the acoustic version of Layla, by the way. All these songs that you listed definitely have sexy characteristics. There are so many different styles and moods for sexy! 🙂
Ha ha. I love “Wicked Game ” and “These Arms of Mine” – Dirty Dancing!!
Listening to Toby Keith right now, thanks, Kitt. Liking the country sound. Cyndi Thomson has a great voice.
Yeah, everyone has their own take on what’s sexy.
For me, the music is good…but the lyrics are what do me in…and define sexy. 😉 As you know, when I’m putting my naughty girl image on I have a totally different set of songs I listen to…then things like AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” or Great White’s “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” come to mind. Of course if there’s a pole in the vicinity, everyone’s in trouble…LOL! (And I’m not as young or agile as I used to be…so it could get ugly)
I took a pole dancing class so watch out!
Was it tons of fun?
It was. Very difficult though, a lot harder to pick up than I would have thought
GREAT picks!! I agree with Kings of Leon, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews, and Eric Carmen. I may be weird, but I also like pretty much anything from Enigma… there’s something sexy about it!
I think Enigma’s music sounds kind of ethereal and otherworldly. Not weird at all 🙂
Awesome shares, Emma! My favorite was probably the Kings of Leon, but Hungry Eyes and Hot Stuff are classics 😀 Layla sounded great too. Thanks for this, love your taste!
Thanks, Margaret. It’s good to sit back and chill out to music on a Friday night.
Love it, Emma! I like your taste in music for sure. Love, love ‘Hungry Eyes’, but I also love ‘Baby’ from the same movie. Have as super weekend! 😀
Grrr. LOL. Have ‘a’ super weekend, not ‘as’. Must be the heat wave we’re experiencing at the moment!
It’s horrible over here. Heatwave? Jealous
Very nice selection of songs. I especially love the mention of Mazzy Star, love all their cd’s. Then I sat here and sat here trying to think of sexy songs and the only song that I think is a really sexy song is ‘Manhunt’ by Karen Kamon, from the movie Flashdance (love that movie). Other than that all that came to me were 90’s songs like ‘Rico Suave’ or ‘I’m to sexy’ by Right Said Fred, or ‘Wannabe’ by the spice girls. So I’m thinking my sugar must be low and I’m gonna go eat a dozen packs of various fun dips until I see marshmallow unicorns in leotards. Enjoy your sexy songs (much better than mine). Ciao
Wannabe? Yep your sugar levels are way too low 🙂 Listening to Manhunt now! Forgot about that. She’s got a growling, sexy voice. You should write a short story about marshmallow unicorns in leotards please. I’d read it.
After thinking about it, I actually have a vague idea for a marshmallow unicorn short story. But more importantly, in an effort to vindicate myself, how about ‘Too Close’ by Alex Clare and the super sexy stylings of Prince with ‘Kiss’. We’ll just pretend that nobody mentioned ‘Wannabe’ or whatever was said, I really don’t remember, oooooh something shiny.
I had to youtube “Too Close” – nice. “Kiss” is great. You’re vindicated 🙂
Good choices! I am probably dating myself when I say Blue Oyster Cult is my favorite, and I’ve never heard of Mazzy Star. Layla is also a fav.
Blue Oyster Cult are great, Serena. You have good taste.
I know some of the songs but don’t listen to them now. Are there any famous slow and romantic songs from Ireland? I know great songs from other countries but not a lot from Ireland. Only know about U2 and Sinead O’ccnner. Thanks in advance. I read the pages about Tristan and you write well. I also like the storyline set in Arizona. One problem though is that all American literary agents are now telling in their blogs that they don’t want paranormal fiction because it’s very difficult to sell them. You writing is good enough to land a literary agent and a major publisher. Best wishes from Canada.
Hi, Giora. You know what? I can’t think of any Sexy, Irish songs right this minute but I do recommend The Cranberries, Bell X1, Bressie (check out his album Colourblind Stereo), The Corrs, The Coronas, The Script, Damien Rice, Ash, Cara Dillon, Juliet Turner, Lisa Hannigan and Gemma Hayes.
Thank you for the compliment on my writing 🙂 I guess paranormal is a genre swamped at the moment but it’s what I write.
Oh so many good songs on this list, I don’t even know where to begin! I am definitely a fan of Hungry Eyes and Use Somebody. Take a listen to Turn Me On by They Fray, it’s definitely one of my favorite “sexy songs” 🙂
Listening to “Turn me On”- I like it. Thanks for suggesting it.
“i feel love.” a song from the donna summer days. can’t recall the artist. dammit.
